These pages have usually a large picture area that is blended into the papers.... OR, the borders are done as another layer that one can blend into the page, OR the pattern (or part of the pattern) on the paper is left as a separate layer that one can blend another paper (or your choice of color) into. Allows for more variety of layouts from one template.
